I’ve lived in El Cajon since 2020, but my roots here go back longer. After growing up in the Midwest, my husband and I moved here to be close with my brother’s family. His wife grew up in this district, and her parents are long-time residents, too. When considering where to live, we were already familiar with El Cajon, and we’ve been so happy with our decision to put down our roots here. In 2024, our family grew when we welcomed our son. We now enjoy spending our free time at the parks, libraries, and many community events, and I hope to expand these offerings as a Councilmember.

As the father of a young child, I’m motivated to bring El Cajon into a new era where my son will be able to safely play in parks or bike down the street, where housing is affordable, and there are good-paying jobs close to home.

For the past 5 years, I’ve served on the city’s oversight committee for funding of police and fire infrastructure, including the upcoming renovation of Fire Station 7 in Fletcher Hills. My leadership on this committee has ensured that the funding is going to useful projects, that contracts are fairly awarded, and that all money is independently audited.

In my career as a Healthcare Program Manager, I’ve worked at hospitals, such as Kaiser Permanente and Scripps, to make it easier for patients to get care when they need it by letting them schedule appointments online or eliminate unnecessary delays for insurance authorization. This sort of modernization and cutting of red tape is what’s needed on City Council, too. In 13 years, I’ve learned how to advocate for patients’ needs while managing teams and multi-million-dollar operational budgets to make a positive impact.

I’ve seen what happens when people fall through the cracks of programs like Medi-Cal due to poor governance—and how to prevent that. I’ll bring this experience and perspective to City Council to advocate for all members of our community.
